If that's your semi-final team I'd put a big lump on Wigan
Sam Tomkins Manfredi Gildart Charnley Tierney Wiliams Shorrocks Crosby McIlorum Mossop Farrell Joel Tomkins O'Loughlin
And then Sutton Bretherton Powell Burke
plus Sarginson Smith Clubb Bateman
We could also add Gregson Waterworth Higginson Wells
All played first team this season.
Err who said about team for semi,I was just saying that we have enough home grown in our squad and its not all Aussies or pacific islandersost of the players I qouted stopped Warringtons unbeaten run and we had at least 4 missing when we batterd Sts in the cup.We have now got a nice balance with Quality overseas with good homegrowntalent, quite enjoying the fact that wiganers are questioning our recruitement policy
no doubt Wigan will be playing the new prop they have signed from the NRL is this allowed or do you have to sign by a Certain date, hang on this is Wigan so it will be ok and if they have a player suspended before the semi just appeal the rugby league will let him off just to give them a bit better chance
Wane reminds me of Bernard Manning for some reason. Sensationalist for no real purpose. We had all this before our last game with them, which we won. He said Rovers fans would earn Rovers advantage in their recent game, as if this was a new concept. He fabricates something to poke opposition fans with every week. Classless and unnecessary, like his team's ruck tactics.
You played at least 7 non-English players against Catalan. Which bit is sensational?
So NOT 10 NRL stars then?
That was the sensational bit. Pretty obvious I would have thought but it seems not

I rather have our settled team than bring someone in half way round the world to take someone's place that could unsettle the squad

Are they all Wigan born as wasn't Charnley born in Preston and mcllorum Leeds?
Id still fancy our chances with a all English team as you still wouldn't be able to handle our pack. You may have the edge in wingers but our half backs are easily on par with yours and on current form,Sneyd id far better than Smith.

McIlorum is definitely from Leeds. Neither of the Tomkins' are originally from Wigan. Suspect half the others aren't either. Wigan have a great youth set up and fair play to them for that, but to your point I'd give us more than a fighting chance with a team of Shaul, Landaster, Logan, Yeaman, Naughton, Pryce, Sneyd, Taylor, Houghton, Watts, Ellis, Hadley, Thompson, Bowden, Green, Washbrook and Turgut (10 of whom are Hull born by my reckoning) against any team Wigan can put out.
We'll not find out, though, because of the rules allowing us to play our excellent overseas contingent, something Wigan have used as a key component of their success over the last 30-odd years.

No they're not all born in Wigan, but baring Mossop and McIlorum in those first 17 names played amateur in Wigan. Wells started at Folly Lane and Higginson in Rochdale but joined Wigan at scholarship U15/U16 level.
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the (Dark) Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."
Don't really understand what all the fuss is about. Wane spouts this sort of rhetorical rubbish all the time. He's obviously not happy at facing us in the semi's. Probably expected to play Wakey (no disrespect to them) at Widnes at a time of their choosing, given how important the are. All that matters is winning. I'm confident that we'll be within the rules with the side we put out. Couldn't say about Wigan either way. The winner plays in the final. I BELIEVE that it will be us.
