I'm of a similar opinion to most on here. It's no real surprise that he's been given an extension as Pearson clearly believes in him. Like most I personally would have waited a little while longer to see how the season pans out and I would have been inclined to keep the extension to two rather than three years, but that is simply my own personal opinion.

The plus side of this announcement is that our plans are in place for (hopefully) moving forward over the course of the next couple of years with a stable set-up and structure. This should help in terms of recruitment, both on and off the field, an area in which we appear to be moving in the right direction once more after a number of underwhelming years.

I'm still not wholly converted to Lee as potentially the man to start fulfilling our long dormant potential, but I am encouraged with the progress that we clearly are making, both in terms of results and performance. That progress, incidentally, has essentially been happening since Easter last year. After the debacle of Good Friday 2015, I genuinely had fears about where we were heading, but since then there has been a steady improvement and the rate of that improvement appears, on the surface, to be steadily increasing as well.

After a shaky opening 14/15 months to his tenure, Radford appears to be steadily growing into the job (and that is without any real knowledge of changes he has instigated behind the scenes). He's done enough to deserve the chance to take the club further in my opinion. Even if Pearson had decided to make a change, who, realistically, could he bring in. Any change (merely for the sake of change) brings with it, it's own risk of disruption.

Either way, he's here, he's our head coach and he will be our head coach until at least 2018 in all probability, so we may as well get behind him and the team and let's hope the Fc rollercoaster has more ups than downs in the second half of this decade.

Well said.

To use a market term I think there's a few trapped sellers on here when it comes to their attitude to Radford. Hopefully their positions will continue to unwind.

What "attitude"? Everyone on here is okay with giving Radford an extension, however we still aren't assured of even top 4 as of this moment never mind actually won anything. Given Radford's previous poor performance as a coach spanning two years a new contract graduated relating to performance would have been a.good way to go given the timing and to ebsure we aren't left with a coach who might not be able to take us further than reaching the top4.
If he gets us there and we have a good showing in the cup then the performance related contract kicks in, if we win silverware then 3 years would be more than earned.
It's a logical approach (I'm not saying the only approach) and people saying it's too early or it's too long is not an "attitude". It's caution given what has happened previous, not just with Radford but with others including players, also that aside from a very good first half a season we've still an awful long way to go to becoming anything lkke the finished article.

You never respect other people's opinions that don't fall exactly into line with yours, you do it all the time often responding with hated comments and deliberately attempting to enflame threads.
Your"attitude" is far worse than people voicing an opinion, it's always you're with my opinion in totality or against me (and the club)!

Bonjour Monsieur Le Bumps,
As you'll know, performance related clauses are often written into contracts.
It's a valid point you raise, however it may well already be in there, so may be a spent argument.

Your "good way to go" suggestion appears to presume you know it isn't already written into the contract.
Is that a fact ?

Someone could always get a petition started to sack him if he doesn't do what we want.

Heyup Bumpster. Read the last sentence again, this was obviously aimed at you and your more relaxed attitude this season. Keep it up, continue to relax and don't react before re-reading the posts. Perhaps you should move to glorious Yorkshire, drink some tea and sleep soundly in your bed.
