Pretty sure Horne was sat next to Radford on Friday night.

One thing's abundantly clear, Powell is a very very good coach. Losing Clarke and Sneyd really hasn't fazed him at all. Milner and Gale were class yesterday.

You are right . Horne was sat next to Radford

Maybe Radford should take some advice from Powell

Gale would have been utter shatplank at Hull.

It's worth bearing in mind that we only got beat there by 6 points after leading before sneyd got injured so cas certainly aren't massively ahead of us or anything and are a side I expect us to beat at the KC when we play them. I think our team is better equipped to deal with cas' play than rovers are

I don't think Cas are way above most teams and will be in the mix for 6 - 10 with both Hull teams come the end of the season. I'd expect us both to turn them over on our own patches. I agree that Hull are better equipped to deal with Cas at Cas than we were and the pitch at the jungle doesn't seem to suit a team with a small pack.

Still amazes me that you let Lynch go, he's still a real quality prop. Saying that we let Mariano go but he has developed a lot since he was with us.

Lynch was fantastic for Hull and a great captain then as soon as Ellis came the captaincy was given to him. Why? I could never understand that and they gave Lynch player of the year. Whos decision was that? Should never have taken captaincy from him. Great player and massive loss to Hull

It's all about length of contracts though and juggling the money within the squad,Shenton is better than any of Saints centres but they decided to use money elsewhere.

I don't disagree, but their cohesion and spirit is getting them over the line against us, Warrington, Rovers etc and at 75 minutes yesterday having lost Carney and out of sight of the opposition they played with aggression and attitude that they didn't need, but wanted, to display.

Cas are playing a similar no nonsense style to us continuously rolling down the middle against rovers,Cas have 2 more points than us and have lost to Wakey yet their coach it seems can do no wrong,i think it shows if we can turn some of our low margin defeats in to victories it changes peoples perspectives.
That said some people are still looking for negatives after our recent 2 victories instead of enjoying them,ie Saints injuries and poor execution against Widnes.

Shenton was rubbish at Saints, I'm sure if he was performing as he has for the last 2 years he'd be still at Saints. I understand juggling the cap but to let what was your best prop go seems a bit extreme.

He wasn't our best prop in his last year . Year before he was and at 34 we believed his best was behind him and he wanted to Finnish his career at Cas . it happens to lots of players

"Look, I'd never use injuries as an excuse..." Daryl Powell

Re: O/T Castleford : Mon Apr 13, 2015 1:22 pm
Always had a lot of respect for Powell who took over at Leeds under what could have been very difficult circumstances.
I reckon some - though not all - of his success at Cas has come by having his team reach peak performance at points of the season where the bigger teams are perhaps a little less focused. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them fall away a bit again once they've secured a top eight place for the final games of the season. That's not said with any disrespect whatsoever - I don't think any coach adopting any strategy could do much more with that squad. I don't think Cas are alone in that approach either, I just think Powell does a better job than the coaches of those teams who are his immediate rivals. I've no difficulty imagining him in charge of any club in the league.
