dayvoz wrote:
It's telling that although you credit the team/coach on the decent defence you put it down to luck, and when we score against good sides it's also down to luck.

That's not what I said, re-read EXACTLY what I said, when I used the word 'luckily' that isn't the same as 'lucky', if you can't differentiate between them well that isn't my fault is it but I'll explain it ok?

How about I use the words 'fortunately for us' we have a pretty good defence, or 'good job' we have a pretty good defence, in the context of what I said the word 'luckily' represents 'where it not for', that I added a (genuine) congratulatory note to re-inforce that made it pretty obvious what was being said, you chose not to see it that way or just didn't understand.

Additionally I didn't say it was ALL down to luck scoring against decent sides as you are infering, please, re-read that aspect of my post again. You will note I said "just don't look capable of scoring against well organised defences that often unless a bit of luck comes our way.
Again, read the sentence, analyse what it ACTUALLY says, take the hints from the words in bold, if you need me to explain it in full just ask and I will do so but what I said is the actuality of what has happened. We have the second lowest scoring tally in the league just ahead of Wakefield, we have the 2nd lowest tally against us. I'd say that in itself is a good indicator of what I said if nothing else.

If you want me to give you some examples of where our tries involved 'a bit of luck' but not wholly & when we scored off the back of some individual brilliance or good team work I'll run through them but if you also read my post about Lineham's tries against Widnes I pointed out to another FC forummer that tried to say I'd said one thing and not what I actually did that I was agreeing with the commentators on SKY that said it took skill/knowhow and guts for him to get them.
I can objectively look at what we as a team are doing, it would seem you cannot do the same as many others on here fail to do so also.

The problem is if you have a despot in charge that guards everything so steadfastly as it seems that situation will not even be a passing thought, because LR would see that as an admission of failure not and admission of all help is welcome help as it should be, any organization or business worth its weight in salt should always be looking for the "next big thing" who can pop up and help its admin, or streamline its output but lee simply is not the transparent type is he, he hides his cards carefully so we can forget additional help , I hope i am wrong but so far we have had no suggestion that anyone is even being considered apart from rumour..
I would love to get Cooke or similar on the team and cream his knowledge and experience but it simply isnt going to happen ...
150 years of history celebrations looking decidedly average

we lack creativity and that is sad given the players we have in the squad, you know its bad when Yeaman is noted as a ball player ha ha
Only kidding of course but we do need someone to step up and start pushing us around the pitch again ala Hudds first game but we just seem to be a team living on apathy and that old FC "let someone else do it" attitude again
we have class all over the team but no glue to pull that fabric together , were 1 yard away from being a really good side,

Yes let's bring in a coach(Cooke) who has guided the current team he is coaching to a grand total of 0 wins from 9,FFS.

On Cooke, remember this isn't about him being head coach, but attacking coach, our attack was the best in years when he played at halfback for us. I'm not saying that he should be appointed attacking coach, but he shouldn't be judged on him being head coach at Donny (where he did a great job last year, but not this*) for a attacking coaching job.

*If you read the Donny forum, there are a few valid reason why they aren't doing aswell this year as last.

He's recently hung up his playing boots.

As Iv'e said above if you read their forum they are some very valid reasons for their poor form and lack of points, it doesn't make Cooke a poor coach (or attacking coach) last season they finished 4th and average 24 points so Cooke must be a good coach to some degree.
