Anyone else gets this message popping up endlessly when viewing this site. Every time look at a different thread it pops up. It is really annoying. Any ideas how I can stop it. Surely once you have logged on to the site and acknowledge d it once it should not keep appearing.
If I was short sighted I could become a referee!

I get it on my pc and haven't found a way to stop it other than using the Ipad but the ads on that are so bi9g that what I want to read is in a 1 inch wide column and some posts run for miles.

I got regular pop ups saying “ congratulations you’ve won a prize “ and other things when I was on the new forum design,I thought it was a scam so never went on it so I went back on the retro forum and touch wood so far I haven’t had any

Keep getting those annoying emails from "Marvin@rflfans.com" whoever he is every time I look at the Forum. I've tried stopping them several times but they keep reappearing.

I've said before when this topic has popped up that on both my PC's I don't see any ads at all except for 6 small ones down the side, which are the advertisement for GB tour, the GF, Catalan's sports tours, one about depression and a keep calm and advertise here logo. For context, I run Windows 7, with Firefox browser and use uBlock origin pop up blocker as an add-on, used to use Adblock that worked just as well.

On my phone, I see no adverts at all and I use the Brave browser which has a great adblocker built in or sometimes Chrome on Android and the forum takes up the full phone screen.

My tablet is the same as my phone.

I get those, they're from Admin aren't they and all of them are when someone likes your post, which for some reason stopped working on here months ago.

Every time I switch my computer on there is at least one of these annoying messages in my unread email list.
As for ads I put adblock on a few years ago and don't get bothered by them anymore, but the block prevents me from reading certain things on other sites.

There's a way to allow you to keep the adblock but you can add certain sites to what's called a whitelist that's part of adblock, that will allow you to read the whole site unaffected. On mine, if I turn uOrigin off on a page it adds that page to the whitelist automatically.
Also on uOrigin you have the ability to click a button that allows pop-ups through or another that disables cosmetic filtering on a page. You can also alternatively just stop large media elements, or remote fonts or allow or disable javascript. If none of them work for you on a specific site you can just turn the whole thing off at a press of a button and see what it lets through. Quite a bit of trial and error before you get it really nailed down if you want the adblock to react differently on different sites.
