It looks like next years loop fixtures will be odds vs evens.

At the moment from 5th we would play an extra game against Pies, Wire, Shudds, Hull FC, Salford and the winner of the £1m game (Toronto?). We are likely to avoid Leeds & Cas. Would we better finishing 6th & playing these two?

The Magic game would be vs 7th (Catalans), though 6th place would have us playing Hull FC

these loop fixtures will probably determine who finish's 5th I think- the team with the easier draw than the 6th placed team.

finishing 5th this year is the goal but you cant really see now if it will be beneficial for next years draw - teams are different year in year out

We have to aim to finish 5th and go out with a bang on Friday. I don't give a monkeys what the fixture options might be next year - I want my team to finish as high as possible. I go to watch Wakefield not the opposition so don't really care who we play
What would a Cockney know about rugby league?

Exactly this.
We dont know which sides will be in form next season so we should aim high and take what comes.
Having said that, you wouldnt want Catalan, Toronto and Shudda as your home "loop" fixtures.

However, with the return of the top 5 play offs, hopefully, the end of season fixtures will have plenty riding on them, rather than the anti climax of being in the top 8 but unable to make the semi finals.
