In 62 years watching Trinity I can only recall being at one abandoned match previously, and that was against Widnes, andwas called off due to fog over halfway through the game. Tonight was unbelievable, and even the players could not see each other

The speed with which the conditions deteriorated was ridiculous.

We got abandoned at Whitehaven one year, that was a right drive for a drenching and half a game, the lights blew up on us during a night match at Ryedale York ?? once.
Never at Belle-vue though, its been foggy and boggy but I can't remember ever being abandoned.

I commented that the only game I could remember ever being abandoned at BV was ironically against Widnes.

Pretty sure the abandoned match was against Castleford in around 1978.

I don't remember a Castleford match being abandoned, but the Widnes one was, because of fog.

against Widnes. The fog rolled in off the common. Pretty sure we were losing but won when the replay took place

Yes, we were being run ragged then the fog came. We won the replay.

My memory is that the game was abandoned at half-time and it was quite competitive.
