I can see why after so many false dawns most still don't believe it but I'm more convinced than ever that as they say work will start this year. There is a lad on the Cas forum who would argue with any one that it would not happen. That was until a couple of weeks ago when their boss called them all in and said they would be setting on new staff as they had got a contract for work up there and would be starting soon. There were mistakes in the Pont + Cas article especially the bit about removing the over head power line. it was actually under ground. Once again I don't blame any one for being doubters but also as I've said before we'll have to wait and see.

I think you are getting giddy over nothing.

The road works and enabling may well start this year, but there won't be a filled out retail complex built and certainly not a stadium, any time soon.

There is no commitment from the developer to build a stadium at any given trigger point. Until they've balanced the books on the retail build, there'll be no stadium. And with only 4 statements of interest to date...

Still, Box will make sure Wakey don't progress their project, while ever the Cas project is up in the air...

On the basis that MC has been very vocal about inactivity in the past, I take the lack of updates as a positive that things are going on behind the scenes.

Hate to be that guy but seen as MC was on RL on RY about 2 weeks ago, he got asked the stadium question and he said he hasn't received any information from 88m to look over yet, that was promised for the end of January, so he couldn't say any more than that.

With respect they are not statements of interest, the article clearly states they are committed. Next time you drive past have a look at the new flag poles there, each one represents a brand that has signed up to occupy a plot.
Fair enough to you the article doesn't actually mention a trigger point but its common knowledge that the stadium has to be built first. Isn't that what Box was referring to when he alluded to getting you the same perfect deal that we have?

THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY IS DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS

There might not be a trigger point in the s106 and it does state that the stadium has to be built first but don't think that that means there isn't a trigger point - the development needs to be commercially viable before any developer would build a £12M stadium.
Four committed retailers does not make it a viable development at this stage.

I'm not having a go, and I hope you do get your stadium but experience has told us that what developers say and do are very different. They're trying to be positive as that will help attract other retailers too but you're a way off that yet (in my opinion).

Don't they need ten tenants signed up before construction starts or have I dreamt that newgroundb4wakey?
It's all irrelevant regarding construction, they've apparently put up 15 flag poles today so alls well. :)
