Aye they might have a SL Squad but more importantly will there be any Canadians/Americans? And how many will feature more than one game? Otherwise what is the point.
It will take years before they could have anything like a "home grown" squad.
The point is to use Toronto as the catalyst to develop Canada as a RL playing nation.
Greater exposure of the game, increased sponsorship and TV revenue ?
- The RFL should already be knocking on Sky's door and demanding higher revenue for having a more diverse competition (even though Toronto are in the third tier).
Having said that, I dont know about the practicalities of having maybe, 2 French Clubs and at some point, maybe 2 North American clubs in "our" Super League.
There is little doubt that RL needs to increase its profile and improve it's scope, with regards to the international spread of the game.
There may be other ways to achieve this but, if there are, nobody has yet come up with any alternative.
Growing from the grassroots up would take us into the next century, so, this isn't really an option.
