He's exactly he kind of player we don't need. He's brilliant when things are going well but invisible when they are bad.

No RL is soft despite what some think on here but Frankie is at the lower end of tough.

Very politely put. :)

I know :D

People can't see whats in front of them.

Frankie is a superb athlete, a very clever player and he a big unit. Considering all those assets he should have been lining up against Australia last week not looking for a club and out of contract. There has to be more to a player like that than just injuries, you just have to use the old noggin. 8)

I think the fact that Cas have released him speaks volumes.

I'm afraid I have to agree with you.

I wish I'd been blessed with his ability and attributes because on his day he could be a devastating runner outwide and even could play centre effectively. Described by some as a prop but really a second rower. Released probably by Cas because he has played only a handful of games in his time there so not value for money. Hopefully a club will take a punt on him although I can't imagine he can demand much in terms of a full time contract. Think Kear was a big fan of his.

But Ferguson would be better value for money and hopefully him and Allgood will be announced next week from what CC has said on Radio Yorkshire.

I once got caught in an argument with the six finger mob when I said Ferguson was a better prospect than Westerman which like many things on digital media was taken out of context.
Westerman is another Marioano though considerably better and both for me fail to deliver on what gods given them. Where as the stout and dependable Ferguson continues to give his employers 100% 100% of the time even if that's not as good as Westermans best. For me this is a player who has delivered on his promise and I'd take them all day long over the show ponies who blight SL.

If only you could transplant Fergies ticker into Marianos frame youd have a world beater which is what I was saying about Westerman.

Correct, and that has to be Trinity's ethos more than any other team.

I'n gonna do an about turn now, rare for me.

Up until the signing of Huby and Allgood who are both tough and hard working I wouldn't entertain Mariano because for me he was a luxury we simply could't afford.

Now however the whole team dynamic has changed and I reckon with the right deal maybe he is now worth considering. If we lack anything now it's a forward who is big, strong, mobile and backs up - a game breaker. For all his faults most of which I've banged on about for years that is most certainly Frankies party piece.

If he's not a total crock just in it to steal a wage and that we have any cash left it could be interesting.

I know people will say we need a hooker to replace Moore but we won't find one of that quality short term so we may as well go with the two highly experienced and very adequate hooker/halfback we have in Finn and Woods and perhaps looking to develop Moules further. It's certainly a position I don't want us to rush into, 9 is a key roll and needs to be a well thought out signing.

Hence a punt on Marriano, we now have a good pack so whats to lose.

Oh well, I wish him the best of luck - should destroy it in that league and if he doesn't I'll know I was wrong and we had a lucky escape :D
