Just wondered on here what peoples thoughts are.

Personally although you can't deny what he has achieved un the sport. He has achieved a lot.

I just feel that this could be a step too soon and has he really got the business accumen that is needed for this position as yet.

I also fear for clubs like us in this. It was mainly the Rhinos that were complaining of too many games and so they reduced the teams. They are still complaining of too many games.

It was also the Rhinos idea of the new format of world club challenge.

I fear I can only see SL reduced further.

I think it's a great appointment.
I don't think he'll favour Rhinos particularly

I'm not entirely sure I understand what the job will be; but it can't be denied that he'll bring something that doesn't seem to currently exist at Red Hall - a live, up to date knowledge of the modern game, and a keen understanding of what makes players, coaches and top sides tick. Surely even the RFL can't fail to harness that in a productive way?!

Keep him away from the disciplinary and it's a step in the right direction - the only one who cares for the game rather than treating it like a (skinny) cash cow.

Have you actually read what his role entails? Because judging by your post and your concerns you clearly haven't.

What ever his role I can't see him coming across any different than any other time off the pitch and in front of the media. A bore.

I couldn't care less whether he is boring. He's not there to be interesting.

He's there to manage the England team strategy for the next 4 years and define a plan for player welfare and help them find careers for themselves after rugby.

Who are you talking about by the way, who are the more intelligent players from League that are now working within RU?

I think my questions are valid, there's too much "jobs for the boys" within League
