byTake you're point on Ridley and Sandown versus Finn and Miller.....but how would they have gone behind a totally busted and beaten pack. Mid season when we were dominating in the forwards Miller looked class and Finn had more time to pick a pass

Bingo !

Half backs with time are dangerous and look dominant, if they are on the back foot and with no time or space to work in they look ordinary.
Having said that, back in the day, our imports (with some obvious exceptions) were a class above out "home" players.

These days, we seem to bring over a much lower grade of player.
May be this is due to the cash that we have available and we can only attract players on the comeback from injury, who use clubs like ours as a stepping stone to get a "proper" contract back home.
We dont seem to have had a really classy player since Solomona.
Tim Smith had his moments but generally we may have been better served with British players, who generally seem to be able to play more games in a season than half crocked overseas players.

Miller may turn out to be an exception.

AS others have said, behind a pack that is going forward, the guy is quality and he's got super quick feet.
Let's hope that Chester and Kear can put together a strong pack for next season so that we can see the best of him.

Personally I think if we ensure we have the trio of England, Fifita and Simon running on all cylinders plus one more think we will have a good front row. These three have all ran the ball in hard when fit.

I feel if we coukd clinch the signing of Cox, Green or Mullally we would go ok in the props.

For me the extra quota spot should be for a quality half back

Fifita's contract is for the end of this season I think. If Anderson and Anthony Tupou leave doesn't that leave two quota spots?

Yes it would leave two.

Would like to think that Fifita is a like for like like for Anderson.

When Anderson goes back that would leave one which I would go with a half back especially if we get a gome grown prop.

Should Tupou ask for a release then I woukd replace with Mateo

Sam Williams contemplating a move back to Super League.

Organising half back, 25 years old and goal kicker.

To me, would be a good fit, we would have 3 half backs in the squad, and maybe a toe in as Finn's eventual replacement.

Any thoughts?

I've always said Sam Williams would be a perfect fit for us. At that stage of his career where game time is paramount, would push Miller and Finn for a starting spot, and I think he'd start ahead of Finn.

Finn's not that bad BOJ04.

We do need that extra half back.

Not sure whether Finn would last another full season at this level.

All other SL clubs have more than 2.

Competition is healthy and good form is only temporary. Also we have been veey lucky in the halves this year injury wise can't see it lasting for two years.

If Williams did come to us would be happy to have Finn as the back up.

I was talking with my son after the semi final and he was saying that every time Sandow and Gidley touched the ball he feared for Wakefield but never felt the same when Miller and Finn touched it. I think he was pretty much spot on. They are good for us but we just need something a bit extra.

Nothing confirmed with Fifita.

Not an NRL player, but one of our ex players being released.

http://www.loverugbyleague.com/news_233 ... eford.html

Think he went quite well for us in the 3 seasons he was with us for.

I'm not too sure now, as he is becoming a bit injury prone.

But with the unlikelihood of Annakin playing again, and the uncertainty as yet as to when Kirmo will be fit again if their injuries are true as to what is rumoured, could it be worth a punt on say a one year deal.

Any thoughts?
