OF COURSE WE ARE!!! Jesus I can't believe what I am reading on here from some...errr 20 pts vs 6. Victories vs all of the top 4 bar Hull. The win at Catalans, 3 wins v our nemesis Hudds. Blimey. I thought I could be negative but I feel positively Mr Brightside reading some of this garbage!
No criticism here squire although I'm not sure if you're replying to my post.
I was at the match shouting the team on and was part of the standing ovation afterwards for the effort.
Give the likes of Yates, Walker, Crowther,Walton and Moules more game time that's all I'm saying as they haven't let anyone down. Either get rid of or play Tansey/Owen if fit when we're struggling for outside backs.
Or are we kidding ourselves? Today's performance (and many others this season) reflect similar score lines and performances to the 15/16 Super League season. Today I witnessed the same mistakes as we've seen so many times before: conceding silly penalties, poor handling, weak defence, giving the opposing acting half-backs nearly 15m per tackle and a lack of attacking ideas. OK!, we've made large strides up the table and had some colossal victories, but basically we're not much different. We have the third worst scoring record in Super League and the worst defence. Credit to the lads for making the semis, but as a realist I couldn't see them progressing to Wembley. Let's concentrate on the play offs and get today's nightmare over and done with.
Yes we are a lot better. It's not very hard to see.

They should get more chances in the Super 8 s.
Maybe I wasn't it gets a bit confusing who has said what after a couple of consolatory ales. I am just sad to see a few having a go after the performances Ive seen this year. Yes some bad ones, but some damn good ones too. I have had a go when Agar was in charge...by God that WAS some garbage we saw most of the time then, I just feel we are moving forward on the playing front at the moment and have some players of genuine class. We just don't have a big squad
However we have too small a squad (with only 16 fit today to play?) to be sending players like Yates, Crowther and Walker out on loan plus not using the entire squad when they have some experience to offer...playing players with injuries may have caught up with the team.....what's happened to Tansey and Owen?
Owens' been in a pot for a month or so and has had an operation done on his leg. Yates only went on loan for a month, literally just before the injuries hit, just to get him game time. Walker went around the same time. I wouldn't be surprised if guys had to go out on loan so we could get Fifita in though. Tansey hasn't played since he went out on that months loan to Hudds in March, so don't know what's happening with him. Ateotd though we have 31 players in the squad, so it's not small, but as we all know when you have so many injuries to your top 25 players, what can a Coach do.
Saying all that, it was only recently we were confirmed in the the top 8, which was obviously the Clubs priority. So I'm not surprised we were putting our best side out when we could. If we'd have confirmed the Top 8 4 games earlier say, I'm sure some of those guys wouldn't have gone out on loan and CC would have rested some of our better players , especially those carrying knocks in preparation for the Semi. But it wasn't to be.
As for the OP, is that a serious question. Think about the teams we've beat and the quality of some of them, the quality of RL we've played at times and then remember last year.
We are a far better team than last year when we have a fully fit squad to pick from, but unlike the top teams our squad will never be has big so I think we obviously suffer when they arrive, I think what we do have that gets us over the line is team spirit and belief . Yesterday was an example of bare bones against a team with a full squad playing their best game of the season, it wasn't our day but however you play, win or lose there is always room for improvement. Like I heard from many of our great supporters yesterday," if someone had said at the start of the season, we would be in the top 8 with a cup semi place at the end, I would have snapped their hand off " well done lads, you are winners for me

We're the 8th team this year and not far off being the 6th best, that's a massive improvement on last year. To finish above the likes of Leeds and Huddersfield is nothing short of amazing when you see how high they normally finish. When you throw in our cup run to the semi then it certainly does look a whole lot promising for us. It's a very very tough league and we've held our own impressively with some outstanding performances and victories this year. What we need now is quality additions so we can be consistent challengers aiming for that top 8 every season. Satisfaction for me is to sit back and watch the bottom 4 in the middle 8's, that was hell on earth last season, as they are soon to find out.
Yeah we're a lot better. 90% of games were over in 20 mins in 2015. Fair enough we've been bashed today. But Wire could have put that score on anybody. However are back line apart from jowitt and Johnstone is toilet. Glad halls going hopefully Lyne and arundel as well. With some decent three quarters we can possibly maintain that top eight spot.
Lyne and Arundel have been decent this season. Hall was the only player that looked like he could create something today or trouble warrington's defence. Love a good knee jerk.
Our forwards were dominated massively by Warrington after the first 20 minutes...when that happens you haven't a chance of competing. That try by Hall should have been given when you look at normal speed it was momentum and John Kear agreed it was a mistake by the video referee. Hall is obviously after the money going to Canada 2 divisions below....but hopefully Ashley Gibson can step in or maybe Ryan Atkins if signed next season?
Thinking forward now....can we get prop Anthony Walker back off loan and also give Bradley Moules another run along with Jordan Crowther whilst giving players like Simon, Kirmond and Anderson a chance to recover from their injuries and get fit?
