Breaking News: Wildcats Docked 8 Super League Points : Sat May 28, 2016 10:24 pm
The RFL issued charges in relation to alleged breaches of the RFL Operational Rules and Salary Cap Regulations concerning contractual arrangements made with Wakefield players in 2016. The charges have been considered by an independent Off Field Operational Rules Tribunal with The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats being found guilty of seeking a fair advantage by underspending on the cap by over £250,000.
The punishment, which sees the club plunge to joint-bottom place in the league table alongside Leeds Rhinos, was imposed by independent tribunal Chairman Judge S. Wane after a hearing at RFL headquarters Red Hall.
The club have also been handed a £50,000 fine, (£25,000 suspended) and have 14 days in which to launch an appeal against their punishment.
RFL spokesman Dennis Betts said "It was obvious something untoward was afoot when Wakefield climbed out of the bottom four. Wakefield Chairman Michael Carter has brought the whole game into disrepute by stableising his club, making them competitive while having the audacity to threaten the top four in the league"
Well, I wouldn't be surprised
**EDIT This isn't true, it's just a pop at the ridiculousness of the RFLs continued Widnes campaign against all things Trinity**
Don't want to ruin anyone's weekend
