I remember very well at one of the audience meeting with JK, some one said to John they thought Danny Brough and Rickey Bibey were terrible signings, every one thought John was mad........ That was probably my fav year in SL

If they are good enough for JK then they are good enough for me

Hurst looks ok a bit in and out of the game but in a full time environment could be a very good player don't think much to the other player on this showing

Agree, the lad did alright against the big Cats team. Not sure what Ulugia will offer that others don't if he comes tbh.

Thought he was okay tonight, probably in a full-time environment he will develop a bit more physically and mentally. Wouldn't be disappointed if he came to us as I doubt he will be on a lot of money and as a front rower will be in his 'prime'.

The position Wakey are in financially and the amount we can afford on the cap, these are not to be sniffed at.
History has shown that you can't kick on and be a top 4 team with these type of signings, maybe one day we will be able to compete with the signings like Catalan and Wire make. But for now, all we can hope for is improvement and hope we can get more out of these types of players.
As long as we are finishing top 8 and entertaining on the limited funds we have then everyone's happy. Also a kick in the teeth of the teams spending full cap below us.

He ( Hirst) has size I'll give you and puts the effort in but doesn't seem very effective. It may be that being full time will bring out what is needed for SL but I didn't see anything in tonight's game that made me think we definitely would benefit from him being with us. JK is a far better judge than me so I hope we end up with a good un.

Your right. These kind of players like hill, julien, penny etc just don't cut it. Wish wouldn't sign cack like that and be top of the league

I only saw the 2nd half but thats what I thought. Also thought the young kid with the number 20 on his back ( Leak ) looked worth keeping an eye on.

Would you kindly elaborate on the 'etc' part of your post please. I'm keen to find out about all these others that have progressed from lower leagues into top 4 teams.
