Just sat an watched sports personality of the year which saw Rugby league totally disregarded from start to finish Team of the year totally ignored for there achievments Mr MacD ignored for his an the big man himself also kicked to the curb vome on RL promote the game we love an not just an handful of teams. But hats off for letting Ms Jones sing as a tribute to all the late Greats who passed this year. That hurt bigging Leeds up so much in one post.

Way to find the negative.

I thought it was a great night for rugby league and the BBC did a great job.

I think RL came out of it pretty well. 3 nominations for spoty, coach of year & team of the year. Add to that Lizzie Jones who could possibly be number 1 in the charts for Christmas with Danny Boy. All in all not a bad night for the Rugby League family.

Personally don't see what this has done for the sport in a long term fashion. The sports name maybe in some limelight atm but in a week everyone outside the sport will forget about it. Sorry if that's negative but it's an opinion at the end of the day.

Even if all it has done is shown BBC that Rugby League community has voting power it is something.

Are people also forgetting that Wakefield were represented in the RIP section with the great Derek Turner.
No value for rugby league, but it made me feel better.

second place in my book means lost mow dont get me wrong I voted for him through my love for the game but for them not to win at least one of the three if Man U or even Leeds UTD had done the football equivalent im sure they would have won something.

It's hard to eat the establishment and the hype that surrounded Britain winning the Davies Cup plus, the lofty status of Murray, made it nigh on impossible for Sinfield to win the big prize
Finishing above Ennis & Hamilton is pretty impressive and there was decent exposure for our sport.
However, until we grow both nationally and on the international stage, we don't deserve any higher recognition.
The sport at the top level remains anchored to the M62 corridor and if we can't expand geographically we will remain marginalised.

Great night for Rugby League.
I thought Kevin Sinfield was top drawer in interview and you cannot knock the exposure we had. Lizzy Jones was amazing.
The exposure will do no harm to the game. Not all the votes will have come from the north.
Bah humbug.
Bring on Boxing Day

It seems Kevin Sinfield had no chance of beating Andy Murray but to be 200,000 above Jessica Ennis Hill is very impressive in my book
