Well, moving on! : Sun Oct 04, 2015 9:02 am
What a relief it was yesterday to win against the Bulls who are one of our bogey teams in recent years. The atmosphere was buzzing yesterday and hope every single fan who attended yesterday comes back next season so we can build on this further and not be in this situation next year.

We have learnt a lot this year and from what we've learnt we need to apply to next year and forthcoming years ahead. We have got 3 exciting young talents who have had a few run outs this season with Tom Johnstone, Jordan Crowther & Max Jowitt who I hope we keep hold of for many years to come. We are finally making a profit instead of making losses which is down to all the hard-work and dedication of MC and CB. They have admitted they don't know much about Rugby League but they have tried their hardest and all the hard work has paid off and regardless of your thoughts on them you should thank them for their efforts after keeping this great historic club in the top flight & may I add - never been relegated.
I believe under the guidance of Brian Smith who laid the foundations for Bradfords golden era we build next year both in the playing teams aswell as in the back-room staff. The guy knows an awful lot about Rugby League and his career supports that. Wherever Brian Smith is next season (back home or here) I wish him the best of luck and if he does return to Australia that he is part of the process that picks the next coach of Trinity.

Improving the first team for next season;

1. Craig Hall - Contracted
IMO had a good first few games for us showed plenty of skill, pace and power but just lacked confidence it seems as the season goes on. I think his best position would be in the 3/4s as he would not have as much pressure on him and can concentrate on himself instead of others.

2. Chris Riley - OOC
A decent player but not been at his best this year while been at us and is moving on by the looks of things.

3. Dean Collis - Released
A great player when fit one of the best centres we've had in recent years and need replacing for next year.

4. Reece Lyne - Contracted
Definitely not a centre and is also very much a confidence player. Thought he did a solid job for us on the wing yesterday and if he was to stay I would only play him there as he does not have the necessary skill to be a centre in putting his winger away.

5. Richard Owen - Contracted
Richie has been a good player for us this year and I hope he has a speedy recovery from a leg break which looked pretty nasty. Played well for us whether on the wing or at fullback.

6. Jacob Miller - Contracted
Our top try scorer I believe and has played well especially when Brian Smith arrived. He needs a calm head to play at 7 who also has a decent kicking game so that he can be complemented well and have pressure taken off him as well as allow him to have his natural running game. I also think his defence has improved over the season

7. Tim Smith - Released
One of the best passers and organisers on his day. Poor kicking game though this season and IMO I would have let him go at the end of this season anyway. However he needs to be replaced by someone with a strong kicking game as well as a good organizing head to work well with Miller. Its an ashame that he ended his way at this club the way he did.

8. Nick Scruton - Contracted
Really good season from the big man and took the captaincy roll well when Kirmond was injured. Played massive minutes throughout the season aswell as playing with numerous injuries. Hopefully in the off season he gets them sorted and comes back fitter and stronger for another big year next year.

9. Paul McShane - to: Castleford
Thought he was a solid player for us but also had flaws. He gave 100% and hope he does well at Cas but not too well

10. Scott Anderson - Contracted
Scott Anderson is a good prop forward who never takes a backward step, had a few injuries this season but we are definitely a better team when he is playing as he is a player who plays big minutes as well as giving 100%.

11. Ali Lauitiiti - Retired
What a wonderful career this player has had. A real professional and an attacking threat on his day. Hope you have a good retirement and glad to see one of the best overseas imports play for us.

12. Danny Kirmond - Contracted
Thought Danny has been carrying injuries all season but yesterday looked backed to near his best. Big effort from him yesterday and hope he can keep that up after a good off season and come out firing at the beginning of next with nothing holding him back.

13. Danny Washbrook - to: Hull FC
Underrated player who gives his all. Solid in defence and I think will be missed next season but I wish him the best and thank him for his efforts since hes been at the club as he has let no one down and trys his hardest. (Just imagine if he threw a better pass against Leeds in the play-offs what could have been!)

14. Pita Godinet - OOC
Had a few injuries this season also. Still think that Hooker is his best role as he isnt much of a talker (from what I see) which organizes the team nor have much of a kicking game. Hope he stays next season as I definitely see him impact when he comes off the bench injecting pace and quick play of the balls. Would definitely keep him next year if we could.

15. Matt Ryan - to: Bradford Bulls
A decent player who gave his all no matter where played. Good luck Matt.

16. Mickael Simon - Contracted
IMO has been our best sigining, great acceleration and pace for a bigman aswell as decent hands. Needs to learn when to give an offload and when to keep and play it safe. If he could put on a few KG of muscle he would be a real powerhouse and definitely a player to wreck a few defences.

17. Matty Ashurst - Contracted
Quite a few injuries this year but as witness he is a very good player that is also quite skillful. I think if next year he can stay fit he will be one of out better players.

18. Dan Smith - to: Huddersfield
A good young talent with a big engine and good hands for a bigman. Goodluck for the future.

19. Jon Molloy - OOC
I would resign for next season as he is a good squad player and has not let anyone down at all this season.

20. Jarrod Sammut - to: Workington
Dont think anyone knew where to play him, brain farts and fullback aswell as being an easy target when defending. Guess he never had a proper chance but wish him best of luck in the future.

21. Max Jowitt - Contracted
Exciting young prospect hopefully will be given that number 1 shirt in a couple of years time. A big future ahead.

22. Jordan Crowther - Contracted
Played well for a young lad in such a physical position. Hopefully has a good off season and plays a few more first team games before becoming a regular. Also a big future ahead

23. Lopini Paea - Released
Thought he played well first couple of games but got injured and then left. Good luck in the future.

24. Tom Johnstone - Contracted
Another one of our youngsters that has a big future ahead and hopefully it is for Trinity. Very pacey aswell as safe under the highball. Hope he plays more regular next season so he can develop even more. Starting shirt please :)

25. Ian Kirke - OOC
Honestly don't know why we signed him, past and it has all the gear but no idea. Yes he has had a few injuries but IMO he contributed nothing but I wish him best in the future.

26. Chris Annakin - OOC
Played awesome yesterday and never took a backwards step. Some people say he is not big enough but if he runs like he did yesterday he gains us a few penalties aswell as ratting their defence. Hopefully sign him for a few more seasons.

27. Kyle Trout - OOC?
Not had a chance really, was messed about position wise not letting him settle down. Best of the luck for the future.

28. Joe Arundal - OOC
He has been a decent signing, good foot work. Would try get someone better but if can not I guess he can do a job.

29. George Griffin - Loan return: Salford
Did a reasonable job, goodluck

30. Jordan Hand - Loan return: St Helens
Did a reasonable job, goodluck

31. Ben Kavanagh - Loan from: Widnes
Not seen much at back end of season but is decent, would not retain though.

32. Stu Howarth - Contracted
Good squad player who will give his all for us.

33. Kevin Locke - Released
World class on his day, unfortunately never saw the best of him aswell as him carrying an injury but thanks for the effort that he did show but sad that he left the club in the way that he did.

34. Michael Sio - Contracted
What a signing he looks, strong and can play big minutes in numerous positions cant wait to see him next year after a full pre-season.

35. Jordan Tansey - Contracted
Played really well yesterday and IMO his best position is at fullback and he is very skillfull and safe under the high ball. Good utility value aswell, if he does play at fullback next year hopefully Max has a few to hopefully slowly make him a first team starter.
36. Anthony Walker - OOC

37. Anthony Mullaly - Loan from: Huddersfield, Destination: Leeds
Really impressed with this player, he came here with nothing to prove with a contract for next year already waiting for him at Leeds. He is a big unit with great footwork and will be a very good player for Leeds next year. However if you're not enjoying it Anthony come back here!!

38. Lee Smith - OOC
Good utility value and also good goal kicker, however if it is true that he didnt want to play because he had a contract waiting for him at Bradford if they got up then Im sorry but I wouldent offer him a contract for next season.

39. Bill Tupou - OOC
Really good signing for us and hopefully after more sessions and having a consistant partner at the side of him will start to put his winger away. A big lad for a centre with plenty of strength aswell as pace. Would try to keep.

40. Scott Moore - Loan from Scott Moore
Penalty Machine and was begging for him to be taken off yesterday for him to score the last try. Woulden't resign him though but best of luck and thank you.

41. Andy Yates - Contracted
Solid in defence but needs to work on his attack more, hopefully a pre-season will improve him.

41. Simon Grix - Loan from: Warrington, Destination - Halifax
Guess we were just helping a brother out!

Dreadnaught I agree with all your assessments.
I thought we sign Walker for another year but not sure. I'd keep him if we didn't

As for Arundal, he's no international centre but I think he has steadily improved this year. I'd keep him and replace the other centre position if we can but in order I think we need a Scrum half with an organising/kicking game to partner Miller; then it depends whether the coach can make something of Hall for the centre but I'd like to see an attacking/line breaking centre, then I'd resign Molloy and another prop to cover Mullally and Tupou for the wing.
