He’s a brilliant player and a great athlete who looks after himself. Though not perfect he carries little of the baggage some of the recent Aussies do.

At 31 and in reasonable shape he could rip up SL for another 2-3 seasons.

He’s also what I call a failure free player in that he simply can’t afford to see his reputation tarnished by not succeeding in SL. Same mould as Menzies, Ray price etc.

If we had a bank to break he’s the one I’d do it for.

I absolutely agree. The one difficulty is that he might fancy winning something, and I think a club not far away is seeing a captain retire who commonly plays at 7. I wouldn't be surprised to see him there, which would give Sinfield's understudy more time to learn (his name escapes me immediately).

It's nice to dream, but there is no way Cronk would end up here; if he does come to SL, he'll go to one of the wealthy clubs as their marquee player.

And I agree - one of the world's greatest exponents of the art of the HB; he'd be the best in SL by quite some margin.
