Ryan Brierley is a close mate of Richard Owen from their Castleford days. There's nothing in this IMO but it does illustrate how easily rumours can start based on tenuous links

With all respect to Trinity, if Ryan does move to SL, I think he may opt for a more 'fashionable' club. (at the moment)

Whether he makes it at that level, will be fascinating to watch.

'With all respect...' Actually means 'with no respect.' Same as when people say 'I'm sorry, but...' He'd have SL rugby, being coached, hopefully, by Brian Smith, and be 1st choice scrum half/stand off. Even if he signed for 2 years then moved on, it shows ambition on his part

I'd say the opposite. A club like Wakefield is perfect for emerging talent struggling to get into sides dominated by high-profile players. They can shine at the top level. Just ask Kyle Amor, Ryan Atkins, Aaron Murphy, Gareth Ellis, Danny Brough, and I could go on. The problem we have is that the minute we get a player shining, all the talk is about how he will be snapped up. Danny Brough was on his way out for most of his time at Wakey, if the rumour mill is to be believed.

Or he could go somewhere like Warrington and get sent out to play at Whitehaven.
