I know there is another thread about the move to Dewsbury. But where ever we move to please,please,please Mr Carter
can you take it as an ideal opportunity to ditch the stupid Wildcat tag. Lets go back to Trinity and leave the Wildcat name to rot with Belle Vue.

Infact going a bit further I wouldn't mind loosing the Wakefield bit either our City doesn't deserve us using the name.

West Yorkshire Trinity would do fine for me.

It would be nice if we could, but the re-branding will probably cost too much to implement unfortunately.

EDIT: On further thought, perhaps it wouldn't cost as much, if we are playing out of Dewsbury then we do not need to replace all the signage at Belle Vue. Hmmmm, could be a goer?

Whilst it would be fine with me he stated not long ago on the radio that he had no intention of dropping it.

I don't get that, send an email containing the news and a JPEG of the Coat of Arms to the RFL, media, broadcast media etc.

Include said Coat of Arms on next years shirt in place of the Wildcat logo and if Dewsbury it be then the new signage (if we're allowed any) carries the new Coat of Arms.

I edited my post, I was thinking along the lines of all the signs and what not around Belle Vue.

Who knows what other costs it would involve though, next years merch and all that. There could even be a cost involved with registering a new name with the RFL!

I agree. Re-engage with the city by cashing in on its history. Make it Wakefield's team again. "Your city. Your team". Something like that.

Would be nice but I can't see it going unfortunately. It should have been ditched at the start of the Glover era.


That said the new merchandise is a nod to the past, it's just a shame it's appalling quality.

What other costs can there be, letterheads are printed in office nowerdays and those that aren't are cheap as chips along with business cards etc.

New merchandise is ordered in every year and so can be designed with the new logo and traditional name.

FWIW, IF we are ever to change the name back it should only ever be at the point we move to our 'new' home, be that a revamped BV or NM.
I'm ok with what we have though tbh!

I don't see why?

It's seen by what seems a large majority as a positive step back towards our historic success and a distancing from the bad times we've endured since adopting the Wildcat logo. That in itself is a positive news story.

If we ever get a stadium to be proud of in the future then that's a standalone story which won't need a rebrand to juice it up.

All in my humble opinion.
