What would a Cockney know about rugby league?

Re: Jacob Miller : Mon Jul 06, 2015 9:09 am
Saw Craig outside the the ground yesterday, he was sorting a few people out with tickets.

His confidence was obviously shattered before he was dropped, I think we'll see him again though I think Max Jowitt has just gone up the full back pecking order after yesterday.

I've seen all the performances this season not just his, I had a lengthy conversation with him a few days ago he will be back soon and I hope BS can work with him because he does have a natural talent, he is a confidence player much the same as everyone else

There's been a few players that have come under quite a bit of criticism throughout the season, fortunately these players are now starting to come good under the new coach, as a result of this it's more difficult to criticise them, because he's injured and not playing and not being able to show whether he's benefited from the input of Mr Smith, Hall is a natural target for some, Lets hope that when he is fit we get the Craig Hall we were all expecting.

I've always liked Craig Hall, but with one or two exceptions, he's been woeful for us.

If he responds to BS post-injury and finds some form, fair play - I'll welcome that; god knows where he's gonna play though, now that we're hoarding FB's. Wing, to replace the lacklustre Riley?

We are drifting a little off topic here but the last point is well made. With so many coming in to form, Miller especially, it puts pressure on those that have been the only choice previously and makes for some tough decisions.

Miller has played himself into a role as running scrum half. He is showing a lot of leadership and I like that too.
How that will work with Smith (Tim) remains to be seen.
With Godinet injured the dilemma goes away in some way, as Tansey clearly isn't the answer at 6.

Hall's difficulty as said is where he plays if he is back in form.
Full back you'd think would be Locke, but after him I'd go with Jowett and then Owen and Tansey are pushing in before Hall.

Hall could play centre and if on form could take either spot but I have to say Hull away was Arundal's best game for Wakefield so would be unfair on him and Lyne just has speed we can't afford to do without.
Tansey would be on the wing with Johnstone, with Owen pushing for place.

With Miller on form, the backs are looking a lot more dangerous (though that is relative to having been toothless previously)

I have been a critic of Miller at stand off but last Wednesday Miller was very close to MOM for me at scrum half and from whats been said he had a super game yesterday (away at weekend so didn't make game) could it be that when at stand off team plays to Tim Smith strengths and Miller has to take a very back seat role and with Smith out Miller can play his natural game. As for Craig Hall yes he has been quite dire so far but I always thought he did well when he played stand off for KR

You need to take into consideration the massive point he wanted to make to Hull. Hope it works out for him but I fear it may be a flash in the pan.

Just for clarification I was not criticising Hall who I believe on the times I have seen him play looks good early on but not at full back. I was just highlighting that until recently no one thought Miller would ever be accepted by some on here but with the influence of Smith his last two games has shown a marked improvement. With regards Hall why could he not do the same you don't become a bad player he may just have suffered under the Webster tenure like many did.

For me Miller has never lacked desire ,enthusiasm heart…..he is now looking more composed and his defence yesterday was excellent.
