After reading what stu dickens has said i am getting more and more worried he will get the job full time as he already knows he has two weeks to decide if he wants to apply.im thinking he may have been told prove yourself over next two weeks and job is yours.no offence to stu but i really hope he doesnt get it and we have our new proper coach in soon.if he where to get it we will be back to square one and i will lose all faith in MC

M C will not loose any sleep over your worry. If the next two games are won and the team show a good spirit why shouldn't he apply.

Winning first 2 games doesn't mean he's a great coach, look at JW

I hope this doesn't turn out to be a Newcastle situation, and Dickens proclaims himself to be the best coach in SL. I don't think Carter will risk going with the cheap option a second time, but it is worrying that he he could be in charge beyond Magic Weekend.

No reason he shouldn't apply at all, it shows his ambition. Fair game to him. Having said that if he was to get the job on the back of a couple of good performances then god help us we deserve everything we get.

at what point will a unrecognised coach be given the job a super league coach, do they have they to come through the championship or through the club

I agree with the original poster.

Whilst I admire Stu's potential ambition it has to currently be the right fit for the right time. Our very SL survival is at stake here and we need to put someone experienced in charge. Also someone who not only commands respect but is able to resolve personnel issues. If Webster "lost the dressing room" as allude to by him claiming the players weren't listening to him anymore we need someone who will be listened to. We also need someone who isn't afraid to rock the boat with a few players and drop if need be.

Nothing against Stu, but he already has built up a connection with all the players and it might be difficult to put emotion aside and be tough with some.

As for your comment snowie, I'd prefer someone with no experience to learn on the job in a lower league first. Our current situation means we don't have time for someone to learn on the job. Beginning of the season maybe but not now when we have to build a platform to be ready for the Middle 8.
