What a difference a week makes. : Thu Mar 05, 2015 6:58 am
This time last week, looking forward to game and away trip to Widnes with possible 3 from 3 outcome. This week really struggling to find any enthusiasm for potential televised thrashing in front of a sparse crowd.

Or you could look at it being a great opportunity to put things right from last week. We always seem to have a chance against Saints and usually put in a good performance. I see tomorrow's game as being no different.

That's the spirit!
3 games in and already you sound like you've had enough.
Good job the players don't have your 'never say die' attitude or we would have been in the Championship a long time ago, with no way back.
Let the players have a go at redeeming themselves before you have em hung out to dry.
How do you think the Wigan fans feel, losing to a team that we beat?
Some people really need to give their heads a shake.

So typical of Wakefield over the years I'm afraid - no matter what team we put out it seems we are always capable of self destruction after showing promise of progress. It's hard to write it off and say 'it happens to all teams' but I suppose it does really, apart from the very best and we certainly aren't one of those yet.
We are what we are and we still have the two wins to build on - and they were very good wins.
If they don't perform on Friday then I will be surprised. I think they will do better but it really is now hard to see a crowd above 5k or anything other than a win for Saints. Not being a pessimist but a realist and nobody will be more pleased if I have to eat my words!

I beg to differ.
I'd suggest the players had just that attitude, that's why we got hammered on Sunday.

But do you think they are wallowing in self pity?
Or are they going to go out and try and put things right?
If the players started writing the season off after 3 games, we would have a situation like Huddersfield had about 15 years ago.
We have been written off time and time again but always keep our head above the water, that's the difference.

The fall back position is that we are 2 from 3 and everyone would have been happy with that before the start of the season.
It will be mighty interesting to see what reaction Webster can get from the team after last Sunday's debacle.
Last week was a humiliating defeat, not because of the score but, because of the manner of the loss.

We have a chance to put things right and the forwards are going to have to really roll their sleeves up and cover for the loss of Anderson.

I can fully understand Fickle finger being depressed.
It was the worst Trinity performance since 2005 (London 72 Wakefield 8) so lets see what happens.

Did not go last week so I can't comment on the shambles that happened, what I am confident about is the performance both individually and as a team plus the effort will be far better against the Saints, whether it will be good enough against arguably the best side in SL remains to be seen.
Remembering the last time we played at home on a Friday night last season against the Bronco's, we had that massive downpour, perhaps a bit of divine intervention and a bit more of that what we got then might be helpful.

I'd hope that they aren't wallowing in self pity, it's their job and the majority of this team will be paid relatively well to go out and put things right, the flip side is WWW is paying £22 to watch it and be entertained, in my opinion it was the nature of the defeat and the ease which Widnes cut us apart, then again, tonk Saints and I'm sure we'll be happy.

You're never going to pay £22 and get entertained every week watching Trin!
Think it's time to forget about Sunday and think about Friday but some just can't let go.
