Look..when we look at League v Union and the dire spectacle that Yawnion can give us sometimes with their interminable scrums and rucks and mauls, I can see why we conveniently side step the rules of a fair scrum. However, forward passes are now a joke in both codes but League far more than Union. I just watched SL show highlights of Salford Koukash Tarts vs Hull. The forward passes were hilarious. But it is most games to be fair. I feel we need to revisit Newton's laws of Physics. I'm pretty sure it takes quite a lot of force and acceleration to overcome the laws of gravity and momentum to make a ball travel 2 metres forwards, when delivered by a man running at 15 mph and only 5 metres from the receiver...Sorry Stevo..this momentum boll*8s is Boll**s. Lets make it easy..forwards is forwards and no matter the alleged position of your hands or your alleged momentum, if the ball goes forwards it is a forward pass..makes it the responsibility of the ball carrier to MAKE SURE THE BALL GOES BACKWARDS, which is Rule no1 of Rugby Football for god's sake!

and I thought it was only me that was fed up to the back teeth of forward (including flat) passes. It has become a joke. At least two tries a game are scored this way and when its on sky it looks even worse with their lets look at that 50 times carry on.

Sod the science behind it - if it looks forward then it is forward. Maguire try 53rd minute absolute shocker - and the idiot ref is running alongside with his stupid head camera proving just how forward it was - ya couldn't make it up !!

Forget the forward passes & just wish we were lucky enough to support a team with such quality, and on that performance, it’s not ending anytime soon .

You are not, it was a fine pass backwards and the fact that the ball does indeed end up in McGuire's hands ahead of where it left Watkins hands, in relation the field of play, does not make it a forward pass. Unfortunately, all it proves is that some fans know neither the laws of the game... or the laws of physics!

BS of the highest order. A forward pass is a forward pass and that was a goddamn forward pass.

So to qualify this, player A passes the ball clearly backwards by 2 foot towards player B, the ball takes a wicked bounce then bobbles forward 4 foot clearly in front of player B, this then isn't a forward pass? Ball back a little but then forward a lot?
