These venerable devices are by definition and the embodiment of responsibility. I have never seen a flask user who is anything other than sobriety and courtesy on legs! It is an essential item of a truly civilised man.

I couldn't agree more; there are those of us who can attend a public event without the need to swill nasty lager from a plastic cup, and despite the fact the we may well represent a lack of income for the purveyors of said nasty lager, I'd suggest that lost revenue is netted off by our equivalent failure to cause any bother.

In this modern world of health and safety gone mad, let BV be an oasis of common sense; free the flask! I hereby give an undertaking not to lob it at anyone (why would I - I'll need it next week?) or bray anyone round the head with it (why would I - it might break?)

I suggest banners, demonstrations and a sedate stroll to the ground, in a very civilised thermos-based protest. Tea's are on me - it's a big flask.
