i would rather spend the money on something at my own club rather than giving to someone else and to be honest i agree regarding some of the thoughts on here. 3 month testimonial or not, the fact remains that a lot of people work at the same place ( or in the same industry ) for a lot more than 20 years and do they get anything like this awarded to them? nope, they do not. ( if he had served one club as a player for 10 years then yes, maybe that woudl warrent a testimonial ) but he has moved around clubs ( yes he has served them well ) but he has moved and great that he has been in the game for so long but that i suppose is as already has been pointed out, his reward.

I'd agree with that. I'd also assume he's been paid for much of his career, so I don't really get the need for a testimonial unless it all goes to charity in which case good on him.
