No, that's correct. It's the only reason RVP is staying in my fantasy team. Surely, surely the Dutch will approach the game in a more positive frame of mind than the previous 2?

I never seen last night's game, but did you even watch the Denmark game? They created so many chances, several poor moments from RvP effectively cost them the match, not any sort of 'approach'. They were all over the Danes.

The Dutch could still go through, but the Portuguese shouldn't be written off, whilst I think Germany will use a lot of their back ups against the Danes. They'll still be good enough to win, but I can see them settling for a draw.

After 85 minutes Holland are winning 2-0 and Germany are a goal up.

What score does most of Germany want? Because I think they'll want to draw.

Germany looked good but against a team that a) showed them far too much respect and b) defended like absolute novices.
Any team that has a go at Germany will have a real chance I think as the centre of that defence does not look at all comfortable.

Having said that, are there any outstanding central defenders in this tournament at all? Chiellini perhaps?
Vidic and Kompany are looking more and more like the best centre halfs in Europe the more games are played in this tournament.

Remember the last time they were relying on Denmark beating Germany...

Rumours of fall out with a Spurs exec or something? Apparently the only reason he wasn't sacked is because Spurs were expecting a nice compensation package from the FA.

Apparently there is a press conference set for Monday morning regarding a replacement.

Dave Whelan will be announcing it.....

Had to laugh at the Dutch commentator on the radio this morning "The last time our defense was so poor and we just let the Germans attack at will they took over our country for five years".

Ouch.
Just started reading Simon Kuper's 'Ajax, the Dutch, the war: Football in Europe during the Second World War'. Illuminating.
