I never said they were dull.

I said i prefer watching germanys style.

Any opinion i have is going to be based on what i feel now, and not what i might say to grandkids in half a century.

One thing for you to contemplate, is in 50 years when your grandkids ask you how good a manager roy hodgson was?

was he better than king kenny grandad?

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

France, another side hoping, just hoping for a break.
Rubbish! All sides who play like that deserve to LOSE!
And so they are behind 1-0.
And similarly England will come and play with the same stupid mentality tomorrow.
I hope not!

It's easy to see why people will call it dull, but that, IMO, is down to the approach of the opposition - whenever people now see Spain play it is in a tournament and the opponents (even good teams like France now) invariably have 9 or 10 players behind the ball at all times - which doesn't make for the most entertaining of games. Del Bosque's current favouring of a false 9 and no real forward width don't help in that regard.

A Spain/Germany final would be interesting because I'd like to see if, at the third time of asking, Jogi Low has found the right team & balance to beat them, I also think Del Bosque has the personnel in his squad (Navas, Llorente, Cazorla Negredo)to be able to change things if they do though he seems stubbornly unwilling to do so.

And I'd turn around and say "Roy managed for fourty years but never made much of an impression. Kenny only managed for a few years but he won the league four times and probably would have won something in Europe had there not been a ban in place. Roy was probably the worst Liverpool manager I ever had the misfortune of seeing."

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

Their passing is their defence.

Indeed. But they should risk conceding a few by potentially creating a chance after twenty passes, apparently.

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

Indeed, its very effective, but is it any more entertaining to watch than a team like England putting 10 players behind the ball, concede 60-70% possession to the opposition, but still somehow manage to sneak a result?

Personally, I find it a bit dull, though it has got them a long way in the last 4 years or so.

I wouldn't pay to watch it. In fact, in this tournament, there's only been Germany I'd pay to see, and maybe the Portuguese when they are brave enough to do their attacking thing.

The Spanish are the Liverpool of the 70's and 80's - Very strong, very capable, but perhaps a little too good for the game's own good....They make the other side look very mediocre and end up simply wearing sides down to submission.

It's all a matter of opinion. I like watching Spain, for me it takes stupendous ability to keep the ball the way they do. They're at their best when they raise the tempo and move forward in numbers, but they very rarely do that, or they very rarely get a chance to do that as teams make it their sole objective to shut them down.

I'm a big fan of the Spanish, I won't hide it and I do enjoy watching them play, it's not just their passing, it's their closing down, their movement and their end product.

I get why some people think they are 'boring', but they aren't ugly. They play the game at its pinnacle. What they do is the hardest thing to do, I'm in awe at their consistency in their execution and their ability to consistently oust opposing sides.
