Signed a new deal until 2022 with an option for 2023 but i can’t find out if that’s in the clubs or his hands. I would imagine it’s his as I think the club would (should) have been trying to sign him up for as long as possible.

Given the lack of comment from the club about the details of who the optional year is in the favour of I’d say it’s nailed on to be his.

Given the buzz and interest around him I think it’s unlikely that clause will be activated so let’s look forward to the next 2 years.

Great news. Would love for it to have been for 5 or 6 years but it’s better than what looked like happening at one point. I think he may be keeping his options open not only to look at the NRL but to see what we will offer in another 12 months. I think the kid is that good there’s a reasonable chance his salary will rocket pretty quickly. I think he’s every chance of featuring for England in the World Cup and at that point you’ve got a player on your hands who’ll want big money. Maybe at that point we can offer it on the basis he extends for 4 or 5 years.

Cracking news, got the potential to be the best prop Wigan have produced in the Super League era IMO.
