Does anyone have any updates on Manfredi & Burgess? Must have missed it if anything has been said.

Manfredi 2-5 weeks after having fluid cleaned from his knee. Burgess started running again in December and aiming for early March.

Jack Wells is another who I guess is injured but for some reason doesn’t seem to warrant updates.

You do start wondering if you should be planning for life without certain players.

Budgie and Manfredi are prime examples. While I feel sorry for them, particularly Manfredi, it's making me wonder if they're just taking up salary cap space that could be used elsewhere. That may seem like a harsh viewpoint, but they're allegedly our two first choice wingers and yet I can't remember the last time they both played in the same side and at full power.

I wish Manfredi's health was more reliable. He deserves a big shot, but he seems to be very vulnerable to injuries. I'm less sympathetic to Budge as he purposely stepped away from the club for 12 months, and according to the rumour-mongers at least, has been talking about leaving again, but he too seems to have become injury-prone in recent times.

It's a weird one, because they are devastating wingmen on their day. But they're both in their mid-20s now, and we hardly ever seem to see them play.

Speaking of injuries, spotted this on Sarginson's wikipedia;

"Daníel, on the side of his career as an incredible rugby player, is partial to a vast knowledge of orca hunting strategy as he believes it will aid in his attacking prowess within his own sport. On cheat days, can be found indulging in a Roman bowl of chips, as history dictates the Emperors of Rome would, in their prime."

I'm inclined to agree on Burgess/Manfredi but at the same time I don't have much confidence in Marshall and Davies either. I'd love a Charnley right about now...

It’s frustrating to have our best two wingers sat on the sidelines but all being well they’ll be back in the side together within the next few weeks. They’ve both had major injuries rather then a run of smaller ones, which gives me some hope they can get a good run going. The current Manfredi issue looks to be one they could’ve got sorted sooner to me and nobody would’ve batted an eyelid. He was doubtful for Salford with the issue nearly two weeks before the Saints game.

It’s a shame we’ve not got them for Sunday mind. The Roosters back line is pretty imposing but with those two alongside Hardaker, Gildart, Williams etc I’d have felt much more comfortable.
