If Lam won all three he'd be offered NRL head coach jobs and be on his way!
Well, that was always the script, but does it necessarily follow? Aussie coaches don't rate SL and success here doesn't impress them. Maguire was pointedly referred to as a rookie when he arrived at Souths after success at Wigan.

On the other hand, many coaches who are only moderately successful such as Nathan Brown and Trent Robinson get top positions over there. They may have referred to Maguire as a rookie but that could have been in terms of his NRL pedigree. Let's be honest, it didn't take them long to poach him after success over here.
Interestingly ex SL coaches keep winning the title over there too. I'm sure that can't have gone unnoticed amongst their club hierarchy.

I'm inclined to agree. Madge was snatched back by the NRL before he'd even completed his Wigan contract, so while it's also a familiar script that the Aussies pay no attention anyone or anything that happens in the British game, the evidence suggests otherwise.
I see no reason why Lammy couldn't just be over here short-term to put himself in the shop window for the NRL. People can dismiss that as spin to disguise a PR stunt, but if that was the case, I can't understand whyd Lammy would have agreed to participate.
If Lam wins SL with the squad we have going into next year which certainly on paper looks weaker than Wire, Saints at the very least then I would have no issue with him staying on as he will have vastly overachieved in my opinion.
I don’t realistically however buy into this conspiracy regarding Edwards and I firmly believe 100% Edwards will be head coach at Wigan in 2020.
I wouldn't deny that those are odd comments by Edwards, especially when seen out of context. But I think it's a bit early for you to be toasting your victory.
I proposed a scenario which could lead to a tricky situation over Edwards coming. You accused me of having 10 pints to come up with such a proposal, saying it was all cut and dried and IL had explained it all. Now Edwards has come out of the blue with the exact same proposal and IL has also said that there is a possibility that Edwards will not come and Lam will stay on.
I think its the perfect time to toast victory....over your smearing of me as some kind of drunken conspiracy theorist.
Thought it was cut & dried he isn't coming? Here's me thinking The Enforcer was the font of all
Maybe The Enforcer could get Kelvin Skerrett to go round and intimidate Edwards into coming?
I invite you to show me where i said it was cut and dried that Edwards is not coming? My argument is that there is a possibility he may not come, something that Edwards himself and IL have backed up.
I would not condone intimidation off the pitch. You may do, i dont.

You realise you can only smear someone if everyone knows who they are? You, like most of the rest of us, are no more than a nickname on a forum. No one knows who you are (or cares, most likely), so you can hardly be smeared.
However, while it clearly matters to you to be proved right, if Shaun Edwards does not take over the coaching reins at Wigan next year, I will hold my hand up and say that you were correct and I was incorrect. But I won't make any such admission until that happens.
Claim victory all you like, but a vague, amused comment from Ian Lenagan about nice problems to have indicates nothing at this stage.

I would still expect Wigan to be challenging for a top four spot, then it's all on the day. Saints weren't good enough against us, and we weren't good enough in the GF. I'd be surprised if Edwards didn't take up the reins, as he was confirmed as the coach to succeed Wane long before any agreement with Lam to keep the seat warm. All to play for, and an intriguing opening round of fixtures to look forward to, even though the results wont amount to much, long term.

You seem to be unable to remember exactly what you said earlier in the thread but let me remind you again. I suggested that Edwards may not come if Lam did well. You immediately tried to shoot me down claiming that no such thing would happen and id drank 10 pints to even suggest such a thing.
Well it turns out my suggestion was spot on as is backed up by both Edwards and IL. You now claim that its a nice problem to have when only a few pages back you claimed the idea was some kind of drunken thought. Shouldnt you be holding your hand up now and admitting you were wrong?
