See I’m 50/50 about this.

Part of me thinks it’s a good idea and is, not quite pivotal but important we start spreading the news of RL in the USA in preparation for the RLWC25. That plus the rumoured New York team joining the L1 ranks this would potentially spread the message and grow the game exponentially.

The other part of me thinks why are we taking Magic weekend away from the fans? Promotion of RL in the USA needs to be a tri venture between SL and the NRL as well is the IRFL. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Magic weekend in Dublin or another UK city. For me personally it should go on tour each year and change the venue.

Heard they're looking at a NYC franchise similar to Toronto Wolfpack. This could coincide with marketing etc.

To be honest I’m keen on the idea but not yet. In the build up to the World Cup, absolutely. I think if it went next year any momentum would be lost well before the World Cup starts.
