Her comment is clearly accusing somebody of racism.

‘I’ve seen him racially discriminated by staff & called terrible names due to his appearance.’

It’s highly likely the comments refer to his time at Wigan although she doesn’t say that.

I’m in 100% agreement with Jukesays on this. Regardless of how he played, what he earned etc, there is absolutely no place for racism in 2018. We need to understand that it may not have been raised at the time through fear or because they didn’t feel it was a safe enough environment to do so. We simply don’t know.

What we do know is that she has made a very serious accusation about somebody and I hope the club do come out with some kind of comment to distance itself and refute the allegations.

I'm not saying Frank-Paul hasn't been racially abused in his life (though the last time I heard racism at Wigan was when it was aimed at Hanley and Gill by visiting fans), but the most obvious problem he had with his last two clubs was that he didn't play well for either of them.

They always say the best form of defence is attack.

Having read her comments I read it to mean he she says has experienced racial abuse and forced to play with injuries at some point in his career without specifying where.

She then goes on to say she had a terrible experience over here which is fair enough if that’s her opinion however going on to say in a terrible country at a terrible club is a bit off imo.

This country has its flaws like any other but for the most part, compared to many other places it’s not too bad. As for being a terrible club why do so many former players re-sign for us if that’s the case?

Her comments have left me with little doubt that she is the reason he wanted to leave and probably the reason for what is considered to be substandard performances whilst at Wigan.

I agree with this in particular the bit about why it might not have been raised at the time. It's all very well saying they should have raised the alleged racism but that is easy thing for those who have not been victims to say. It's also a bit of a cop out because it's like making it out it's FPN's own fault he was allegedly racially abused because he didn't report it. There is even a term flor this, it's Victim Blaming. Expecting victims to be the pro active ones and go out of their way to do so is often an excuse for inaction on the part of those who can deal with the issue.

They can't just refute them without investigating them first so it's whether the club thinks this is something it needs to look into or not.

As to FPN and him being criticised for his performances I think he did get an unfair amount of stick. I think he was playing as Wane asked him to and he also was an ever present in an injury hit side. Perhaps the club (and all clubs) could be a bit more aware that these days criticism is far more visible due to social media so players and their relatives will see it far more. The negative comments are not just made down the pub in private after a match but are public. Last season Gildarts Dad was on the Facebook A&L group getting upset about comments on his son. This being so if a player is being slagged off for doing what the coach wants (for example) a bit of praise or comment might clue the fans in a bit more. That said all players are going to have stinkers every now and again and if they do, they can't expect people not to comment. If Mrs FPN heard him being slagged off at games he's in good company. Years ago a chap who sat near me spent the entire 80 minutes of every game slagging off Andy Farrell. It's what happens at matches and always has.

Is there anything to take legal action over? The only thing she said directly against the club is that we are terrible

There's a definite argument to be said that even if she isn't accusing Wigan of those things, Wigan are the only club that can be identified (because we're the only UK club he's played for) and so it's an association. If I was Wigan I'd be at least having her change her words up to differentiate between a club she is accusing of racism and one she is simply stating terrible.
