There wasn’t a single thing wrong with Sam Tomkins passes to the wingers was there? My first instinct was to think ‘why throw those long cut out passes in your own half’ but then I realised I was being ridiculous. There wasn’t anything wrong with Tomkins skills there and the wingers should’ve been taking those passes.

Baffling that ST hasn't made the England squad isn't it?

Four try assists yesterday according to the match stats.

It could have been six or seven had the wingers held onto those passes.

Maybe he doesn't want to play for England at the moment, maybe he wants to concentrate on his club rugby and getting back to being a superstar player before he holds his hand up again

I can only think/hope they’re leaving him out with the hope of dragging more out of him and in turn giving him time to build more confidence before putting him back in.

I’m all for this consistent approach Bennett is taking but blimey we can’t be saying Tomkins isn’t a better player then Ratchford or Brown surely?

Worked ok today with Escare at #7 and Sam staying at #1. I think Sam had 3 or 4 try assists today, it could have been two more if our wingers has held the ball.

I mentioned on here before the season started that we needed Tomkins at fullback beacuse he can produce that killer pass, kick. Its something he does better than Escare. I also wanted Wane to use Esacre in a Burrows role, he has the pace to cause teams problems from 7. Why do they not let Escare kick for touch he has a good boot on him some of the pens were making 20mtrs. I think a Bateman tap and run was out best penalty kick effort yesterday

Agreed. One Powell kick, right on front of me, was in the Leuluai school of 10 metre gains. Why oh why? The contrast with Wakey was marked.

I thought Escaré coming on and ST staying at full-back worked OK.

I said to my son yesterday that the Wakefield kicking to touch was far superior to our efforts.
For a coach who talks about hard yards the missed opportunities of gaining 20 or more yards every time we have a penalty amazes me. Hopefully SW has this on his list of target improvements in the coming weeks.

Escare & ST both seem to have a decent punt therefore, I just cant understand why we cannot give this duty to just those guys rather than anybody who thinks that they can kick. "Nit picking" but a relatively easy fix.

Has the kicking coach gone or is he still on the books??

Agree we looked much better with ST at FB and Escare in the halves. Just need the rest of the backs to pick up their games to feed off ST whose form is improving game by game which is great to see.

This got asked at one of the fans forums and Radlinski basically dismissed it, saying it's more important what we do with the ball after the kick to touch, than the kick itself. I agree with you though, it's bizarre we don't take the easy metres. I appreciate that you don't want to risk the opposition batting it back in field, but we could clearly get more metres than we do get, whilst still not risking losing possession.

However if you think about it, from penalties last week Widnes failed to find touch twice and this week Wakefield once. However I do agree with you that a bit extra could be found on the kicks although Sam hit a long one late in the game on Sunday.
