A few big name Aussies have come to the UK, been awful and immediately started trying to find ways out of their contracts.

The running joke over here - where cold and rain are ways of life - is that, if they find themselves away from an idyllic beach for any length of time, they have a nervous breakdown.

I wouldn't be quite so cruel. I think, as others have said, that moving around the world is difficult.

However, to do it for only a couple of years - on very big money - is surely not terribly onerous. There are times when I wish that some of these guys, and their other halves, would simply man up.

Given they get to spend at least three months back home in the Aussie summer I think that is fair comment.

Correct me if I'm wrong; In the last couple of months we've let two contracted players break their contracts, who have then gone on to more or less immediately sign with a NRL team for no fee?

Some shrewd business from the club there.

Both players have been given one year deals as squad players. They’ve hardly been falling over themselves to get them in and certainly wouldn’t have paid a fee. That would’ve left us paying the wages for two unhappy players who were on good money and more then likely not performing.

Seems decent enough business to me.

Quite right.

It baffles me why some fans seem to take a certain glee in leaping on any evidence they think they've found that the club is being mismanaged.

People have short memories.

I don't agree with everything IL has done, but during the Dave Whelan era, there were stories from journalists that, half the time at Wigan, there was no one even there to answer the phone.
