I’d give it until at least 10pm on Friday before we draw too many conclusions on what has it hasn’t been fixed or what needs fixing up. We were very good for two games and poor for one (refuse to even count the Souths game as it was nothing but an exhibition). There we’re mitigating factors behind that Wire display (we hope).

I’ll judge how we’re looking overall probably after Cas away.

I honestly don't know how good we were v Salford and more importantly Hull. I don't rate Salford and Hull had key players missing and injuries during the match which put undoubtedly effected their game.

No Danny Houghton is big for them.
Also they lost Faramino early on, had to completely arrange their right edge, which we took advantage of.

Before injury their roll on sets were making around 60 per set of 6, we were averaging 25-30. Losing the arm wrestle.

If replicating Melbourne Storm was so easy, everyone would do it.

So basically what we had under Madge.

We've come so far from the simple & hard hitting standards he set.

I've spoken to 2 x super league coaches & a players who's played for him in the NRL & they all said the demands that regime places on players is pretty much unsustainable hence why performances seem to drop off in year 3/4/5

The discussion was getting back to basics. Which Storm probably do the best. Something which perhaps Madge learnt there took to Wigan, won 2 trophies turning us into champs. Then installed at Souths, winning a GF and WCC.

So injuries and players missing for Hull affected their performance yet all the injuries that we’ve suffered the past 2 seasons is not a valid reason for poor performances?

Danny Houghton is a big loss for them but no bigger than Bateman was for us.

I was responding to "What we had under Madge"
I don't know if Madge's techniques/training regimes are tougher than Melbourne's or not? (I suspect they are)
Just because he came from Melbourne doesn't mean he didn't take it to a whole new level when he was in charge?

I don't think line speed, tough D, forwards making hard yards is unsustainable. Do you? Or anything else which I mentioned in the original post.

What about the hard yards they were making compared to us before they had to rearrange their team? What about how their right edge was makeshift due to a head knock to a winger? Many factors effected Hull's performance that day, lose Danny Houghton was just one of them.
