To be honest I wouldn't mind them if they did beat us, or you, or both.
What a shot in the arm that would be for them.
It would be a shot in the arm. Not sure what team Radford would field, possibly our full strength team to show the canadian owners some respect and that Toronto team would hold its own at the top end of the championship imo
Also hope our club prices this right. £10 for adult £5 for concessions
Thinking about it yesterday, Wigan have a history of playing newly created teams in the first match (and getting beat by them too). Didn't Wigan play Fulham away in 1981 with a 10k attendance and narrowly lost.
I'm sure similar happened against Catalans as well if I remember correctly.
Wasnt the Fulham game played with 15k in attendance ?
Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Why so cheap? People will have been starved of rugby, eager to see their 2017 team and a first opportunity to see Toronto, who everyone is excited about. I'll be pleasantly surprised if I only have to pay a tenner but would still consider £15-£18 to be reasonable.

Don't they play the women's tournaments there? What's the walk-up price for their games? Give or take a fiver at most & that's probably about what it'll cost.

we have 4 other friendles/warm up matches scheduled, granted not all will be first team players and not all at home, also they are still a championship 1 club even if they are a team everybody is excited about
charge £15-£18 get 4-5000, charge £10 probably get nearly double!

I think you are overestimating the difference the price makes to attendance. I reckon most people don't even know the price until they get there, then they pay it regardless. The only difference is whether or not they tut on their way in.

really? do you go to buy a tv without checking prices first?

I'm afraid he's right mate. Look at the Huddersfield season ticket prices recently. A few years back they were offering tickets at £50. There was no higher take up than usual.
People decide first whether they want to go. Then they see if the price is prohibitive. So whilst high prices put people off, lower prices don't actually entice any more to come. You could even let people in for free as they have tried at Salford and you don't get any more through the gate.

No, because a tv would be a relatively large proportion of my income, and I know I can get more or less the same thing for massively varying prices depending on the spec and where I buy it. Conversely, a standard rugby ticket is a small proportion of my income, I know roughly how much it will be (£10-£25 for a friendly for arguments sake), and there's no benefit to shopping around because I'm not flexible on what team I watch and I can't buy a ticket anywhere else for cheaper. Irrelevant point really.

its a friendly match, not a whole season! most people they will be aiming this game at is fans who have already purchased season tickets, those same fans that dont turn up at cup/play off games because ticket prices are too high and dont want to pay it!
for 1 game the price is not going to hurt our club!
