I don't we've had much option. With all the injuries, any & all attempts to get players on the park have had to be made, no?
As for the vagaries of the discipline board, I'm amazed (I think it was) Sarge's deliberate throwing of the ball at one of the French squad (and hit him square in the mush) during one the "melees" wasn't picked up (but the officials were concerned with other things at the time ).

They have, and we still haven't gone to appeal often.

The request for a postponement of the Wakefield game was rebuffed by the RFL, about the same time a Scottish football team had their game postponed due to illness. The rhetoric about player welfare clearly doesn't apply here. I remember that Charnley looked green at the start of the game, I'm amazed it wasn't a bigger scoreline to be honest.
