I look at players like Ellis and Peacock who had injury patches and came back, if SOL plays over the semi and final with fitness tests that give him a green light that he's likely to play the full game without issues, then great. Does 50% of a game with SOL justify his place over another player? I'm not sure, but I would love for him to play in the Final pickup a winners medal and have a high point.
Does that mean retirement immediately? Probably not, avoid the internationals and concentrate on rehab. Start next season, see how it goes. There is a clause in the salary cap to allow a retiring player to be removed from the cap, so why not see how he is after a long rest? Worst case, he gets a few games and looks at retirement, best case the time to get his body better recovered gives him a new lease of life.
