Last night, to win the way we did with 12 men, must rank amoungst our greatest ever nights in Super League, theres a few that immediately spring to mind....

Good Friday with "the kids" out

Radlinski last minute v. Bradford
Grand final comeback v. Wire

However, last night is right up there for me. Apart from the fact we was 14 points behind, a man down and on the wrong end of a massive penalty count. The sheer joy of seeing the faces of 14,000 Wolfs nearly in tears was really something. Wonder how that "large woman" that appeared on the screen, almost in tears laughing at Gelling dropping the ball when we was 28-14 behind is feeling now?

Going further back our comeback against Hull at the Boulevard during our "8 in a row" years.
Wigan losing heavily at half time came back to sneak a one point win, with Hull missing a last minute penalty to win it.

Leeds away in the SL Semi Final 2010 was a big one for me. They had won three in a row at that point, and would go on to win two more back to back as well, so if we hadn't beaten them that day they almost certainly would have beaten Saints in the final and ended up with an unheard of 6 in a row! They had also knocked us out of the CC with a last minute try, and there was real bad blood between the teams after the 'rugby gods' game a fortnight before where they basically fouled us to win the game. Our record at Headingley was poor as well, having won one from our previous five visits.

The first half was nip and tuck with Leeds looking the better team, and I was waiting with dread for them to get over the line, their crowd to go wild and them run away from there with the momentum, but it never happened. Our defence was brilliant, then we blew the game open 5 minutes either side of half time to take it from 6 - 2 to 6 - 20. After that it felt fairly comfortable and realisation gradually started to dawn that Leeds' run was over and ours was just beginning.*

*except really it was more of a speed bump to Leeds, who would just go back to winning finals for another five years, and we never really had a period of dominance due to Maguire leaving for Souths.
