And the Man of the MATCH played how many mins yesterday?

Not sure Jim but at a guess I'd say 40.
A game where no one really stood out so unsurprisingly a guy with two scrappy tries got it.
Let's see how many more he gets when he plays 40 during the season.

Personally I would have given MOM to Bateman.

Pretty much agree with most of that, although I'd say Jukes' ratings are just a tad on the generous side. :)

Yep, that's my thoughts, pretty much. Good analysis, and I agree with the relative performances in Jukesays ratings, just I'd take a point or two off across the board. I picked Isa as MoM at the time, also - I did have some doubts when he signed, but happy he's proved me wrong so far.

Happiest I've been after our opening game for quite a few years now!

Pretty positive from the game to be fair though again you have to factor the weather and the pitch into things which frankly makes things even more impressive,

Lockers,Isa,MM and Gelling all did very well,

Sarge still needs to look towards his wing and see if anyones there before setting off down the channel,

So yea not a bad start at all.

I thought Sarginson had a top game but I agree he needs to work on his relationship with his winger. I always think he should be over at right Centre tbh. When he plays left centre he constantly steps inside and goes away from his winger. I get that him doing that on the right cuts the space on the outside but he can work the overlap or have the option of bringing his winger back on the inside (something that can't happen on the left because he's already used that space).

Very promising comeback from him though. His natural fitness is immense.

Sarge's performance was immense and quite unexpected. I think in Super League terms Joel Moon is the best left centre and Sarge is very similar. However, his winger doesn't seem too starved of chances in the same way Ryan Hall seems to suffer sometimes. I thought Josh did very well too.

Lots to build on. I do think people are going a little over the top about Isa. Bateman was excellent. All the props did well. Special mention goes to Tautai and Smith. Great to see them both do well. People will have to look elsewhere this week to sharpen the knives.

Not sure what we expect from Powell? Is there a better 2nd choice hooker in Super League?

The conditions were really bad and our handling was unbelievable considering.

When I saw the squad for Fridays match announced and noticed that Sarginson had been included even though it would be his first match since the 9th of July, I made the point that in my opinion he was in the squad because another back may be doubtful for the match.
Therefore when I saw that Gildart wasn't included in the final 17 I assumed it was him, but I have just noticed that he played in the new reserve league against Warrington.
I think considering the state of the pitch Wigan made a good decision in leaving Oliver out of the squad considering that he still seems a bit light weight.

Erm yes..,

Agree with all the sentiments about Sarge and agree Charnley looked good, their combination could be great this year if they both stay fit. And Charnley had a try unfairly ruled out.

Yes I think they could be a great combination. At the time I was convinced it was a fair try and Josh did really well to stay in play, but when I saw it on tv later, I think it was the correct decision as Sarge knocked on.

You didn't say who you think is a better 2nd choice hooker (if that makes sense)? Bear in mind that Powell is probably quite cheap on the cap.

An hooker who has always impressed me as an interchange hooker (he seems to play better as an interchange) is Adam Milner of Cas, he seems to make good yards on a regular basis with his quick breaks.
