Keep it simple if we must use a marking sytstem in that if you play 40 minutes the maximum points you could achieve is 5.

I'm sorry you found it so confusing.... But, the nature of the game is that people are substituted, spelled, rested... You will have to try and get your head around that, or just look at the players who do 80 mins to make your assessments.

That is what I tend to do.
I don't find it confusing at all just don't understand how someone who plays less than half a game has a break at half time because we don't want to burn him out then gets an 8 whilst the majority of his team mates work their nuts off every game are compared on a a supposed level playing field. Nah that's not confusing.

As for the game.

Pleasantly surprised. The conditions were awful, but we held our own.

It's a typical Wane team - Forwards do the tackling, backs make the hard yards. It's odd to watch, but it's clearly effective.

Wish we had a better replacement for MM than Powell, but there you go.

When was the last time that happened?
If that occurred I suspect that the player would be given a chance to play a full 80 minutes the next time.

I thought we'd struggle, but the conditions leveled everything out. All in all, a good run out for those who've not had a game since the Test. But apparently the increased error count and drop in completion directly correllated with SOL & MM going off, which SW mentioned on 5live and must be corrected. Tierney lacked confidence under the ball & I still don't see why he merits the position. Gelling's been on the pies & looks good, let's hope the brain farts have been put away for good
Overall a nice (if slightly wobbly) first game. And I'm glad we got the French now rather than in 20° august

Jukesy glad you have got a " spring in your step " enjoy the weekend, fair summary , taking into account our pre season or lack of , conditions , size and experience of Cats , I thought job well done can we now improve our away form and get something next week across the border

It was a very good first outing particularly in comparison to recent years. Shocking conditions but we handled it better than Catalans. With Crosby, Mossop and both Tomkins still to come back there is plenty to be positive about. Isa was very impressive I thought.

Next week at Hudds will be a far better test on what we can expect this season on what should be a better pitch, top of the ground for both teams hopefully.
