True. Better to spend all that money and acquire the trophies than to spend even more, as you did, and acquire nothing.

If we finish 2nd, but that is not a done deal yet, suspect there will be a Thursday game and a Friday game and we will be the Thursday game, or we could play it elsewhere, Torquay anyone.

iirc the team finishing top would play first, to give them an extra day off before the GF

Off the top of my head 2, which is 2 too many. The excuse has always been about Latics in the Premier league taking priority. Now they are in the 3rd tier maybe they should postpone it and let a top flight team play

So were now complaining about a game moving that may or may not got moved and in fact will 99% not get moved that we haven't even qualified for?
Asking that Latics should postpone a fixture when for all we know there may be no issue and if I remember correctly in the last couple of years we have played Thursday/Friday before football played at weekend so pretty sure there won't ne a problem?
If there is I'll stand back and let a 100 page moaning thread evolve, but surely until then we can try not to moan about something we haven't qualified for, that may not be an issue?

Sometimes I want to rip my own arm off and beat myself over the head with it just to numb the pain!

I suspect the games will be played Thu & Fri, with Leeds being given the Thursday slot whether they finish first or second because sky (aka the Sinfield/McGuire fan club) want to give them the best possible chance to win the GF. No doubt, despite the DW being available, our fixture will be played on the moon at 3am just so that the winners of that tie have some additional jet lag to contend with.

Seriously, its hypothetical as yet , as you point out, but if I can see the possibility of it happening, then surely the people in charge can? Either way it could be a nailed on cert 3 weeks before the event, so lets wait and see.
