Verdict on Signings : Fri Apr 24, 2015 8:38 pm
We've played every team in the League at least once now. Now is a good time to give a judgement on a few of this season's signings progress since we signed them. I understand they could still improve but lets have a judgement so far.Larne Patrick: Poor. To put it bluntly. If you gave me the option Id have Jack Hughes back in a heart beat - and I was no big fan of his! wane said when we signed Patrick he saw him playing as a prop for us. He's simply not big enough. With Ben Flower now back I think Patrick will have to be patient with his chance of getting games.
Taulima Tautai: Mixed opinion. been impressive for spells and his size in an asset to our very small team. However as a team we consistently fail to utilise his offloading game and we miss out on a big part of his game. Sadly, he doesnt seem capable of many minutes either. He seems to be out of breath and tired after just a 10 minute spell.
Lee Mossop: I've been impressed. Proved a very good signing. He's made good metres and been solid in defence (barring an error last night). A lot questioned why we signed him and got rid of Scott Taylor. So far, from what I've seen, Id much rather have Mossop than Taylor. I half expected Mossop to be on an injury table with a 6 month lay off by now If Im honest but he seems to be holding up and playing well.
What does everyone else think then?
