I’d very much appreciate some feedback from you guys. I’m putting this in here to minimise facetious comments from opposing fans. This is by no means certain, and only at the ‘thinking about it’ stage right, but I am considering moving to Wigan. I have lived where I am for a long time now, but have never liked it that much. Financial constraints made it unfeasible to move in the past, but nowadays I am earning much better money (hence the regular trips to the DW to see games!). My son is settled in London, and has been for some time.My house is just about bought and paid for, and although it’s not worth much, it’s worth enough, I hope to buy a small flat or house in Wigan, looking on rightmove site, that looks doable. Although I am getting on, I would need to work as long as possible. There is quite a skill shortage in my field (I am a mechanical design engineer), and I reckon I could find work OK. I would have thought that commuting to either Manchester or Liverpool is just about doable (plenty of trains?) if need be, and I still have my bike. Haven’t looked lately, but the last time I did, I found jobs very much in my field in Warrington.
So any comments (downsides welcome!), especially from commuters, would be very welcome. Thanks.
