I'd honestly take Mellor. Lost a lot of his pace yet added more in terms of decision making and game management. Plus if we signed him, he'd be unlikely to leave for the NRL in the next few seasons, unlike potential signings Lachlan Lam and Jackson Hastings.
He's at a good age and now has a wealth of super league experience.

just get Matty Smith back....
great argument there, go for someone bang ordinary.... as they wont be leaving for Aus
Wellens 3/10 Like public transport. Late, slow and stunk
we are looking at Danny Walker. Can’t say I know much about him.
I haven’t seen much of him as most Widnes games have been that dire and one sided I have turned it off but I’m pretty sure he’s seen as a future star??
Rumour on the Widnes boards is that he is off to Warrington. Not sure he’s gonna get many minutes with Clark there and reading the boards I’m not sure Widnes fans are sold on him but he’s only just turned 19.
I'm a fan of Walker but surely that's a poor use of cap space when we have Ganson, Shorrocks and Woods in reserve.

Shorrocks is surely on his way out as far as Wigan are concerned? And Woods (if he stays) is no hooker.
it does seem like SW is unconvinced by Ganson, given his relatively few opportunities. Maybe Lam will feel different; we'll have to wait and see.
Shorrocks - Personally I hope we keep him. He has shown some good qualities when fit, and we need competition for places given that the starting options (Powell and Leuluai) are both fairly poor. I know he is 22, but he has missed a lot of rugby through injury, so I feel like there is plenty development opportunity in him, especially working with Lam/Edwards.
Woods - Gives us options at hooker because putting him in the halves allows Powell/Leuluai to go to hooker
Ganson - Agreed, he has been one of Swinton's better players this year though, surely if/when Leuluai calls it a day, it opens up options for him. I thought he would have played more SL games by now.
