whether it was a while ago or not, you'd think the club would have some form of media ban in place for topics of this nature. i appreciate the lieks of Bateman etc have gone about thier business professionally on and off the pitch (barring the long wait!) but the club shouldn't be allowing our youngsters to behave in this manner and certainly shoudn't allow their agents to do so on their behalf - not in the public eye anyway.

i've mentioned this before, with Burgess and Gildart. Williams had literally not long sicne since on Marquee then went to / was approached by the press and talked of a dream move to the NRL. i actually think it is WORSE that the interview was from a while back as that means it was even closer to him having only just signed Marquee status with us. disrespectful to the highest standard if you ask me!

hopefully for the rest of 2018 Lam and Edwards will be all over him and make a decision on him for the good of the club, which i fully expect they will want to do. if that mean we flog him then so be it, we don't want someone who doesn't want to be here. if he is kept on then lets hope they can inspire him to want to play for us.

Williams is going. The money freed up by this and John Bateman's departure being used to bring Owen Farrell in next season. Improved contract for Sammy Kibula as well.

This criticism of Williams is going way OTT.
I found it most interesting that he was popping up left and right and combining with TL rather than sticking to one side as some posters claim our halves do.

From Lam's interview in Wigan Today:

And Lam certainly wants to work with Williams, who made his comeback from a knee injury in Friday’s 24-22 win against Castleford.

“My arrival will probably suit him better than any other player,” said the ex-No.7, who will succeed Shaun Wane as interim coach before Shaun Edwards takes over in 2020.

“I think I can get him to the next level with his temperament, his game-management and also his ability - at the moment I think he prefers to run than to pass - but I think I can make him more of a complete player.

“He’s the person who may benefit most (from my arrival).

“I don’t want to lock him into the Wigan left side, if you allow him to move around, the team becomes more balanced.”

Who would have guessed?

Might know what he's talking about this Lam bloke.

Hopefully he can teach him something about long kicking, pass selection and pass technique.

Very excited about having him work with the halves especially, we're crying out for someone to add some flair and creativity to our team.

Williams isn't going anywhere until 2020 at the earliest.

They offered a 3-year deal at Newcastle Knights on £400.000 a Year, approx $700.000 AUD.

They are ready to pay the £400-500.000 Transfer fee.
