I think you’ve summed it up pretty well there to be honest. IIRC his wages don’t count on the cap due to the length of service to Wigan? I’m not sure if that’s entirely true so feel free to correct me if not but let’s say that that is the case; there’s not much to lose keeping him on but potentially a lot to lose from ‘pushing’ his retirement
