Now as we are doing the Leeds example that would mean Wire V Leeds and Saints v Catalan followed by a semi for OT meaning 5th could win 3 games against teams above (like Leeds could tonight) or top win just one but gives massive reward for winning the league which IMO something defo needs to happen or like that.

There are other ways like the old 1st v 2nd winner goes to OT but still even with these I dont think it would stop Leeds they just seem to be the play off masters.

I don't think moving the goalposts to suit your argument is a win. That's not the type of top 5 we are talking about as you well know.

Tonight just showed how little the RL press know about the thing they report on.

A number of Leeds players where ahead of Sinfield for MoM tonight for me:

Peacock
Ablett
Burrow
Delaney

to name four.

Fleabag You haven't been watching the game for very long have you ? This is the Wigan board/section. Have a look at the RL history books. Was it 8 in a row ? And how many times World club champs ? No club has won anywhere near Wigans record for trophies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wigan_Warriors Been watching the game for a lon long time and Leeds have also won their fair share of tropheys pre SL era. But guess what we have all moved on and we are now in a new era it is called the Super League era and just look how many tropheys we have wonin that era. So stop living in the past you bitter and twisted old git. Fancy that distinctly average Mr Sinfield winning the MOM. Must be fixed

But it is a purely subjective choice and any different group will have a different opinion on the day.

I thought Delaney and Peacock had a fantastic game, indeed our whole pack were up there and laid the foundation for victory along with a game plan for which McD must be given top credit. We took the pivitol players out of the game aned generally reduced them to a one out game.

But to pick a MOM award out of a great team performance is difficult and I would award it to Sinfield for outstanding contribution not least his kicking game both at goal and in general play and for his leadership.

We could have gone to pieces when Ryan Atkins snatched the lead again after the break but I believe that the Leeds captain stepped up and drove his team on to victory.

The game was fantastic especially for a final and BOTH teams deserve to be applauded.

and we would have been worthy champs if we won,it just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and it just does not seem right leeds are now champs!a lot of fans i know feel the same way,it really does not make any sense to have a team finish fifth in a league to end up as champions.oh well.roll on nxt year i guess.

Hopefully a few chair people of the top teams will do something about it and complain. Sadly I think the only way that anything would be done is if someone like Wigan or Saints won from 5th after Leeds had finished 1st. The RFL won't do a thing while it benefits Gary Hetherington's pocket.

You’re right mate last night’s result was an absolute disaster for the game of rugby league. If things don’t change does anyone else think that Leeds might want to finish fifth again next season. Please don’t tell me to get over it, they deserve it, they did it the hard way, it’s just sour grapes and I wouldn’t say it if Wigan had won in the same way. Well you’re wrong, believe me I would have.
