That just about sums it up for me. After that 'excuse' of a World Cup, I think I've truly given up on foozeball, even from my armchair. I used to lean towards Man City a few seasons ago (never used to be dull watching them - either won or lost in high scoring games), but since they came into the cash I can't be bothered, they have gone dull. Manc Derby a few days ago anyone?
Is it any surprise that the most exciting team to watch this season is Blackpool....? Should they stay up, you watch from next season they will naturally blend in with the rest of the bunch where 0-0 and 1-0 is the norm.

| I've always said that both sides average between 13k and 14k home fans, but this year latics are struggling to hit 10k. Its worrying as a latics fan.
The economic climate doesn't help when its £28 behind the goal which is why I don't think the wcc will sell out (£40 for my season ticket seat) but to have only 10k fans on v liverpool is poor imo.
Still.......until we lose points because of it.......who cares?

| Exactly, no points for crowd sizes. If you feel down about Latics crowds you should look at some of the Spanish sides.

It doesn't help that every single Premier League match can be seen live via some dodgy streaming websites across the net. Even local pubs link these up to TV's and show live games.
Live Wigan RL games are limited to Sky coverage, which helps us get more bums on seats.

| Although you could argue that the Premier League benfits from wall to wall 24/7 advertising and publicity, whereas rugby league... well we all know how we're treated by the media.
The fact is that if you're a loyal and passionate supporter you're going to make it to the ground rather than sit in front of your computer trying to get a dodgy, unreliable stream or find a pub showing the game via some Middle Eastern sports channel.

Its a well known fact that there are couple of pubs in Wigan showing live Saturday 3pm games involving Latics, and that these pubs are full. Granted it doesn't make up the missing 8,000.

Not real fans then, are they?
Tippings still open? Used to be able to have a pint and Abu Dhabi Premier League football at the Dog in Standish, Tippings and Eckersleys.

Yeah still open, think they have a 3D tv now as well, I'm sure I saw a sign for the Wire game back in July.
Think the landlord at the 'Earl of Balcarres' in Scholes got fined a couple of times last year for it!
Eckersley's has gone under though.

Not many on then. Whelan will be happy.

The Bold was done for piping his sky down from his flat above the pub
I knew Keith Holden had left Th'Eckers and gone to Ben Johnson but thought someone would have taken over.
Bloody ell Latics!! Every time I think about backing them to stay up they pull out a performance and I watch the odds tumble!
